A royal decree was issued today, extending the term of Mohammed A. El-Kwaiz's chairmanship of the Capital Market Authority’s (CMA) board, with the rank of Minister, for a period of four years, effective from Shawwal 26, 1446 AH.
According to Argaam’s data, El-Kwaiz has been in office since July 20 2017, having served as the CMA's Vice chairman from August 2016 to July 2017.
A royal decree was issued on June 7, 2021, extending his term as CMA’s Chairman (the first extension) for a period of four years.
El-Kuwaiz holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from King Saud University in 1998. He then obtained a Master’s degree in Financial Management and Business Initiatives from Stern School of Business, New York University in 2003.
Previously, he worked in investment banking and corporate banking at Samba Financial Group. Prior to that, he worked as treasury official at the Arab National Bank, and was a consultant with McKinsey & Co. Global.
