Aramco publishes sustainability report for 2024

Saudi Aramco announced, in its Sustainability Report for 2024 that it aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions for scopes 1 and 2 across all its wholly-owned and operated assets by 2050.

The company said that it has set a new interim target to reduce the carbon intensity of its upstream operations to 8.6 kg of carbon dioxide equivalent per barrel of oil equivalent or less by 2030, and to achieve a 15% reduction by 2035 compared to 2018 baseline levels.

It also indicated that it aims to reduce the expected emissions from its usual operations by 52 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year by 2035.
